Flashings and girth

The girth is the width of flat sheet a section is folded from: add up the length of every face. It sets how the sheet is cut, so it is the number that most affects the price.

• Measure each face of the section, in millimetres, in order from one edge to the other.
• Note the angle at each fold if it is not a right angle.
• Measure consistently to the outside of the section and say so.
• Add any drip or kick at the edge; it is a face like any other.
• Give the length of each piece and how many of each.

The quickest way to send it is the girth builder: set the section out flat by fold, as you would sketch it, and the girth adds itself up as you go.

Pre-painted steel is usually finished on one side. Say which face of the section is the one on show, and we fold it that way round. The coated ranges we fold include Bright White Liner, Colorcoat Leathergrain, Colorcoat Prisma and Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra; the colours are in the colour chart.
