The Queens Quay energy centre: the mesh-clad flue tower beside the glazed hall in its corten-effect frame

Queens Quay

An energy centre on the Clyde: a glazed hall in a corten-effect frame and a flue tower wrapped in expanded mesh.

The Queens Quay energy centre was built by Muir Construction, and Walker Cladding put on the roof and walls. Several systems meet on the one building: a Euroclad Elite Plus 2 roof, Eurobond Rainspan and Euroclad Rockspan walls, a corten-effect fascia, mirror-effect cassette rainscreen, and a James & Taylor Eyetech expanded mesh facade round the flue tower.

Where that many systems meet, every junction needs its own flashing. The flashings and trims were cut and folded in our Irvine workshop.
